Francis Alÿs: Two Decades Later

The Museo de Arte de Lima (MALI) presents Francis Alÿs: When Faith Moves Mountains (2002). Two Decades Later, an exhibition marking the 20th anniversary of the iconic work's original debut.

Faith Moves Mountains was carried out in April 2002 for the Ibero-American Biennial of Lima as an event of political motivation and poetic expression, a monumental action conceived as an absurd project and executed by the power of collective enthusiasm. The exhibition brings together a diverse range of archival materials such as documents, sketches, paintings, photographs, videos, and texts that collectively build the narrative of this work, which lasted only a few hours but has become part of contemporary art mythology.
