David Zwirner is a leading contemporary art gallery with locations in New York, Los Angeles, London, Paris, and Hong Kong. Representing more than seventy artists and estates, the gallery is known for presenting innovative, singular, and pioneering exhibitions across a wide range of media and genres. Active in both the primary and secondary markets, David Zwirner has played a key role in shaping the careers of many of today’s most influential artists and has maintained long-term representation of a wide-ranging, international group of artists.

Founded in 1993 on Greene Street in New York’s SoHo neighborhood, the gallery relocated to Chelsea in 2002, establishing itself on West 19th Street. International expansion began in 2012 with the opening of a gallery on Grafton Street in London’s Mayfair. Marking its twentieth anniversary in 2013, David Zwirner inaugurated a five-story exhibition and project space on West 20th Street in New York.

Further growth followed with the opening of a gallery on Manhattan’s Upper East Side in 2017, alongside the launch of David Zwirner Online, the gallery’s digital viewing platform. The gallery expanded into Asia in 2018 with a space in Hong Kong, followed by its first Paris gallery in 2019, located in the Marais. In 2021, David Zwirner opened 52 Walker, a New York downtown space which focused on presenting work by artists outside of the gallery’s roster. In 2023, the gallery debuted its first locations in Los Angeles in Melrose Hill, followed by the opening of a standalone building in 2024. In 2026, 52 Walker transitioned into a nomadic exhibition program, while the Tribeca location became a David Zwirner gallery. All of David Zwirner’s global galleries have been designed by Selldorf Architects.

Beyond its exhibition program, David Zwirner produces a range of cultural content, including David Zwirner Books, its publishing imprint launched in 2014; Dialogues, the gallery’s podcast, which premiered in 2018 and is currently in its tenth season; and Utopia Editions, a fine art print publisher established in 2021.
