Field Kallop (b. 1982) is a painter and visual artist who lives and works in New York City. She earned a BA in art history from Princeton University, studied at La Sorbonne in Paris, and later received her MFA in painting from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2011. Kallop’s work is rooted in geometric abstraction; using thin washes of color, she creates layered compositions of circles, arcs, rays and waves. Her practice draws on her interest in mathematics, physics, astronomy, and also artistic traditions such as modern painting, textile design, tantra drawing, and sacred geometries. Her work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions around the United States, and she has held residencies such as The Andy Warhol Preserve in Montauk, among others.
