“It’s an incredible privilege that something I’ve made can raise funds for organizations and causes I believe in, like the Ali Forney Center. In an increasingly antagonistic and dangerous period, AFC’s material support is incredibly meaningful and provides hope to LGBTQ+ youth.
This painting is a portrait of my husband, Ian, and it ties together several different scales: human scale; the bridge in the distance (a bigger, structural scale); the sea and the moon; the pearl; and the spiderwebs in the lower left (a much different scale and network than our own). We’re all enmeshed and should take care of each other.” —Anthony Cudahy
