National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne, Australia
December 13, 2026–April 11, 2027
The National Gallery of Victoria has announced that Wolfgang Tillmans will be included in its 2026 Triennial. Featuring more than eighty ambitious and thought-provoking projects and grounded in major new commissions, world-premiere works and Australia-first artist presentations, the fourth NGV Triennial celebrates the work of some of the world’s most respected artists and designers while amplifying the voices of emerging talents. These artists and designers explore time and transformation in their many forms—material, cultural, technological, personal, political and societal—revealing the present as a site of continuous change in works that invite us to slow down, participate and sharpen our attention.
Free and open to the public, the NGV Triennial 2026 is a dynamic and multilayered exhibition experience that unfolds across all four levels of NGV International. In dialogue with the museum’s historical collections and spanning painting, video, sculpture, installation, fashion, textiles, ceramics and design, the 2026 NGV Triennial offers visitors a global journey through contemporary practice.
