Elizabeth Peyton: Les Hôtes du Louvre

The Louvre Museum presents Les Hôtes du Louvre, a two person exhibition with Elizabeth Peyton and Kader Attia.

For two years, both Peyton and Attia had their own studios on the museum premises, inhabiting both the physical space and its embodied layers of history, while creating, conversing with museum personnel, and engaging with the public.

For their exhibition Les Hôtes du Louvre, the two will now share the temporary exhibition space in Salle de la Chapelle, where the results of their respective sojourns in the museum are on display for all to see. Peyton will present paintings and drawings: a mix of reinterpretations of works from the Louvre, which she has been creating since her early years as an artist, as well as representations of historic and contemporary subjects, made in her studio in the museum.

Les Hôtes du Louvre: Kader Attia et Elizabeth Peyton was curated by Donatien Grau and Nicolas Marbeau in dialogue with the artists.
