Dear friends,
We’ve been thinking a lot about how we can best respond to the need for art (which never goes away), and of course, continue to showcase the incredible artists we represent while our galleries are closed for the time being. All of this brought to mind something Jeff Koons said in our very first episode of Dialogues: “When we make something,” he observed, “we have an opportunity to be in communication with an individual, to show empathy and to have a dialogue.” It’s an idea unaffected by time or social distance, and we felt it would be an episode worth revisiting this week. We hope you’re as inspired by this conversation—the sincerity of it—as we have been, and we look forward to sharing more episodes from Season 3 in the coming weeks. We’re fast-tracking this new season because in times when there is less to look at in person, we need more to listen to! So stay tuned for episodes featuring Mamma Andersson, Jockum Nordström, Rachel Rose, Diana Thater, R. Crumb, Art Spiegelman, Helen Molesworth, Kahlil Joseph, and many more. —The Team at David ZwirnerImage: Jeff Koons, Lucas Zwirner, and Luke Syson, Slate Studios, New York, April 2018
