As the health and security of our staff and visitors is our top priority, our staff has implemented enhanced safety measures in accordance with city guidelines and reopening protocol.

With these concerns in mind, kindly note that we’re taking the following precautions at our newly reopened galleries:

David Zwirner New York (525 W 19th Street, 537 W 20th Street, and 34 East 69th Street)


- Tuesday to Friday, advance appointments are recommended but not required. On Saturdays, the gallery is open by appointment only. To schedule your visit, please book for the 19th Street gallery

- There will be a limit on visitors in the space at a time, to align with the city’s current social distancing protocol. (Group visits are not permitted at this time.)
- If the gallery is at capacity, visitors may be asked to book an appointment or return later, or queue outside the gallery.
- Visitors are required to wear masks for the duration of their visit.
- Masks and hand sanitizer will be provided for visitors at the front desk.
- The front desk and gallery staff will be wearing masks.
- The front desk will abide by a paperless policy: The exhibition press release, checklist and other details will be available via QR downloads.
- The 69th street gallery will remain closed to the public and is only available for private appointment only.

London, New York, and Hong Kong Galleries Reopen

A conversation between two dynamic artists and good friends, Patrick Staff and Julie Tolentino, whose work feels especially urgent now. Staff, who recently had a solo exhibition at the Serpentine Galleries in London, uses video and other mediums to comment on body politics from a queer and trans perspective. Tolentino also addresses issues facing marginalized groups, through performance that combines her dance background with social exchange. Always integral to their practices, these concerns are only heightened in the current moment. Here, they discuss contagion, toxicity, anxiety, the “leaky body,” and art during the pandemic.

 Josh Smith leads the following tutorial for a DIY exhibition catalogue. Visit the

Published on the occasion of the artist's first solo exhibition at the gallery, 

 looks at Smith's vigorous repetition of particular motifs, illuminating his approach to painting as an exploratory medium for image production. In these paintings, Smith sets the stage for a new mode of self-reflective commentary on image making, acknowledging that “the meaning perhaps arises in the making.”
