Art Basel Hong Kong

David Zwirner is pleased to return to Art Basel Hong Kong 2025 with a focus on important works by prominent painters from the gallery’s program. Featuring a range of modern masters and contemporary artists, this presentation explores their diverse approaches to figurative painting.

Highlights include important works by Luc Tuymans, who is presenting a work that was featured in the artist’s recently concluded retrospective at UCCA Center for Contemporary Art, Beijing, and Michaël Borremans, who will debut a new painting following his 2024 solo exhibition at the Prada Rong Zhai, Shanghai. Building off these two major Belgian painters, the booth will focus on a selection of important figurative painters from the gallery's program, including Lisa Yuskavage, Elizabeth Peyton, Steven Shearer, Marlene Dumas, Neo Rauch, Gerhard Richter, and Mamma Andersson, who will be the subject of her first solo exhibition in Asia at the He Museum, Foshan, China, opening June 2025.

In addition, the gallery will present works by Josef Albers, Katherine Bernhardt, Carol Bove, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Scott Kahn, Yayoi Kusama, Robert Ryman, Wolfgang Tillmans, Rose Wylie, and Portia Zvavahera.
