This Viewing Room presents a selection of prints byYayoi Kusama. Created in 2011–2012, many of their motifs are consistent with the artist's practice over seven decades, for example dots, tendrils, and the repetition of similar elements within a single work. At the same time, the prints are compositionally among her most vibrant artworks. In Kusama's own words, “I have been making prints ever since I was captivated by their allure, and am constantly overwhelmed by the brilliance arising from within the process of making them.”

These prints were presented in the Viewing Room on the occasion of concurrent solo exhibitions of the artist’s work in New York.

At 525 and 533 West 19th Street, Festival of Life featured sixty-six paintings from her iconic My Eternal Soul series, new large-scale flower sculptures, a polka-dotted environment, and two Infinity Mirror Rooms. The recently opened space on 34 East 69th Street on the Upper East Side presented a selection of new Infinity Nets paintings. For Roberta Smith, writing in The New York Times, these exhibitions “argue in favor of greatness.” Further works in different media are available through the exhibition page.
