Marcel Dzama

A text description that reads Pink Moon presents new works by Marcel Dzama inspired by the artist’s recent travels in Mexico and Morocco. Travel has become increasingly important in Dzama’s art, as he has sought to create works informed by both the distinctive cultures he has immersed himself in and his own subjective experiences. During a time in which people all over find themselves isolated and at a social distance, these vibrant depictions of ornate textiles from the markets of Essaouira and Edenic renderings of the lush jungles of Mexico, among other evocative imagery, engage that deep, collective sense of wonder and discovery that we have temporarily lost.
