Aspects – A conversation on Fred Sandback’s books and sculpture
Printed Matter, New York
February 2, 2018

On the occasion of his new book Aspects: Fred Sandback’s Sculpture, Edward A. Vazquez, Associate Professor of Modern and Contemporary Art in the Department of the History of Art and Architecture at Middlebury College, will be joined in conversation by Courtney J. Martin, Deputy Director and Chief Curator at the Dia Art Foundation, to discuss Sandback's artists' books in relation to his sculptural practice. Aspects is the first comprehensive monograph to have been published about the artist. Exhibition copies of the four publications Sandback produced in his lifetime will be on view during the event.

Friday February 2, 6–8 PM

Aspects: Fred Sandback’s Sculpture is published by the University of Chicago Press. For Alex Potts, author of The Sculptural Imagination, this publication is "by far the fullest and most illuminating analysis we have of Fred Sandback's spare and subtly experimental work."
