The works feature repeating faces in biomorphic shapes, a well-known motif in Kusama’s oeuvre that is particularly present in one of the artist’s most celebrated and iconic series, My Eternal Soul (2009-2021). This series of prints is based on acrylic paintings made in 2004-2005 and currently on view at Guggenheim Bilbao.

The repetition of forms (eyes, noses, and mouths) and the repetitive process of printmaking itself reflect the obsession that has long been central to the artist’s work.
