About David Zwirner Books

In early 2014, the gallery announced the formation of David Zwirner Books, a stand-alone publishing house with international distribution through Artbook|D.A.P. and Thames & Hudson. With plans to produce exhibition catalogues, monographs, historical surveys, artists’ books, and catalogue raisonnés, David Zwirner Books officially launches at both the New York Art Book Fair at MoMA PS1 and the London Art Book Fair at Whitechapel Gallery (both fairs run from Thursday, September 25 through Sunday, September 28).

David Zwirner Books will publish its own books, as well as occasionally co-publish with selected partners. A stand-alone website will be launched in November, along with the inaugural David Zwirner Books catalogue.

In 2014, new and forthcoming titles include Bridget Riley: The Stripe Paintings 1961-2014 (texts by Robert Kudielka, Paul Moorhouse, and Richard Shiff, interview with Robert Kudielka); Richard Serra: Early Work (text by Hal Foster); Yayoi Kusama: I Who Have Arrived In Heaven (text by Akira Tatehata, poem by Yayoi Kusama); Jeff Koons: Gazing Ball (text by Francesco Bonami); Raymond Pettibon: To Wit (text by Lucas Zwirner, interview with Kim Gordon); Michael Riedel: Oskar; John McCracken: Works from 1963-2011 (text by Robin Clark, interview with Anne Reeve); Palermo: Works on Paper 1976-1977 (texts by Christine Mehring and Christoph Schreier); Ad Reinhardt – How to Look: Art Comics (text by Robert Storr), and a forthcoming major monograph Ad Reinhardt (Robert Storr).

The publishing offices and book showroom are based in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood in a townhouse located at 515 West 19th Street, adjacent to the gallery.
