Fresh from solo shows in New York (P.S.1) and Grenoble (Le Magasin) Adel Abdessemed presents his first solo show in the UK. Abdessemed has attracted increasing attention in recent years for his both punchy and poetic work. Though diverse in form his works are characterized by a simple, straightforward and transparent use of his chosen media – including video, photography, sculpture and drawing - and an often playful approach to existent forms, symbols or conventions.

Abdessemed grew up in Algeria before leaving for France in 1994 at the height of the Civil War. He has since lived in Paris, Berlin and New York.
