David Zwirner is pleased to participate in the 2012 Art Basel Miami Beach (Hall B, Booth K18). The gallery has been a part of this fair since its first year in 2002.
David Zwirner will be exhibiting a range of gallery artists, including a designated room for works by Francis Alÿs. The artist was recently part of documenta in Kassel and will open an exhibition at David Zwirner in New York in January 2013, consisting of new paintings and the film, REEL-UNREEL.
Works from the gallery’s Minimalism program, including Dan Flavin, Donald Judd, John McCracken, and Fred Sandback (whose work will be exhibited in London in January), will be on view, as well as figurative painters, including Michaël Borremans, Chris Ofili, Neo Rauch, Lisa Yuskavage, and Luc Tuymans, who recently had the inaugural exhibition at David Zwirner’s new Mayfair gallery and will open The Summer is Over in January in New York, marking the tenth exhibition the artist has had with Zwirner since his U.S. debut in 1994.
Also at the fair will be drawings by Marcel Dzama and Al Taylor, along with photographs by Thomas Ruff, including a major work from his ongoing nudes series, and new photographs by both James Welling and Christopher Williams. Welling’s retrospective opens in February at the Cincinnati Art Museum and then travels to the Fotomuseum Winterthur in Switzerland, and whose critically acclaimed exhibition, Overflow, was recently on view at the gallery in New York; and Williams’s solo exhibition, The Production Line of Happiness, just opened at Kabinett für aktuelle Kunst in Germany.
